God’s Protection!

Dear Prayer Partners,
We had quite an adventure today as we ventured east to find the exact spot to build our house. Amanda and the boys had not seen the spot that the Elders have suggested. We left early in the morning and were progressing well; when we came up to a police sub-station about 1/3 of the way. The 2 police officers rushed out to the road and flagged us down. They told us that a passenger vehicle had just been stopped and robbed at gunpoint just up the road on a bad section where you must go slowly. They “commandeered” our vehicle and another that was behind us. They ran and got their automatic weapons, loaded them, cocked them, and one got in each of the cars. We were the lead vehicle. They removed their outer uniforms and sat in the front seat. The officer in our car had his finger on the trigger and told me that when and if saw the bandits, he would yell “stop”, jump out and
that I should immediately back up to avoid the gun battle. Wow did we pray, and pray, and pray, and pray!!!!! I reflected on the scripture that I had read earlier in the morning, Psalm 20 (read it). In this chapter, God promises to answer all our petitions. It also contains the verse about “some trust in horses and some in chariots, but we trust in the Lord our God.” We pray before each trip and we often pray this verse. God was so faithful and we arrived on the other side of the bad section without incident. We praise the Lord for His protection. I/we have driven this route 6 times in the last week as we searched for a place to live and sought
to make contact/get permission from the Elders.
Once we arrived at the site, we were greeted by a nest of scorpions, the largest of which was 4+ inches. In total, 8 came out at once to greet us. On the good side, we saw an ostrich family and were greeted by the male fluffing his plumage to scare us off. The couple had 3 babies with them. It is very rare to see ostrich babies.
We praise the Lord for His protection and His leadership in helping us find a place to live and minister in this area. We have been greeted with open arms by the Elders. We praise Him for His favor and for His love for the Samburu people.
Thank you for praying for the Samburu people and for our family. Your prayers are a continual blessing to us and a hedge of protection around us.
