some Prayer Requests

Please pray for a helper to assist the woman who is storying for the children at DB school. The new year has just started and there are now some 1,600 students attending this school, the largest one in Samburu district. She only has one hour each week to teach and formerly had divided the children into 2 groups, alternating them each week. Because there are so many, she must now divide them into 3. This means each group only gets taught every 3rd week. She has been praying for a specific woman to begin to assist her. Please join with us that God will bless abundantly and provide the person/people He chooses so that ALL the children can hear the stories each week. This weekly hour of religious study is a formal part of national school curriculum. The children can choose from a variety of religious teachings to attend and in almost all cases, they prefer the Bible stories rather than some of the other offerings. Praise the Lord they want to study His word and ask for workers to teach them.
The drought you may have seen on CNN is real and widespread. Animals are dying every day and the ones who remain are not well and not giving milk. This leaves people who depend on animals, like the Samburu, with no food. Prayer is needed for rain to provide water for the people and animals. Even with rain, it will be some time before there is grass growing again for the animals. In the coming months, many will need assistance with food. Pray that all those who need help will receive it. Pray for government officials to act quickly and with wisdom in directing charitable groups where to provide food relief. Pray that those in difficult to reach places will not be forgotten and ask God to protect the health and lives of people at this time. Pray for Kenyans everywhere to seek God and turn to Him in their hour of need.
Our teammate Eddy Simmons and his wife will be traveling to S. Africa around the 15th of February for medical issues with Eddy’s arm. Pray for good evaluation and positive results for Eddy. Pray for us and also their 4 boys as we will all remain in Maralal together. We are so glad to be here to help in this way and pray we will be a blessing to their family during this time. Pray for us to be able to provide the support, comfort and sense of family for these great kids while their parents are gone.
