Surgery/Prayer

Dear Prayer Partners,
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers during these days. By
God’s grace, I was able to see a specialist yesterday and he
diagnosed me with a nerve problem in my right arm. I have lost about
40% of my strength in that hand/arm and it will be necessary to have
surgery to correct the problem. I actually had a similar surgery
last year on the same arm. This surgery will be more complex and we
are grateful for Prof. John Fleming, who will be performing the
surgery. Please pray that we will have opportunities to minister to
him. The surgery is scheduled for the 10th; however, we are praying
for a cancellation in order to have the procedure earlier. We will
trust God with the timing. I will need to stay in South Africa for
about 10 days past that for evaluation/follow-up. We will then
return to Kenya and I will continue to recover there. Full recovery
will take about 3 months. Amanda will be doing a lot of driving in
the months ahead. Pray for her!!
Also, we have decided to fly the boys down to South Africa so that
our family can be together during this time. They will fly down on
Friday. Please pray for them as they travel. This is an
international flight and there will be a lot details dealing with
passports, customs, and unfamiliar airports. Pray that they will
have a good flight and will be helpful to one another. Also pray for
the security of their travel documents. We feel that this is the
best thing for our family at this time and the boys have always
wanted to come to South Africa. They actually have roads, traffic
lights, and McDonalds here. The boys are excited. We hope that we
can continue some of their homeschooling while they are down here.
Thank you for your prayers. We are praying that this surgery will
relieve the pain and allow me to get back to ministry. I will be
able to concentrate on language learning during the recovery period.
Seeking the Lost until They are Found,
Eddy and Amanda
