Mama T’s husband passed away last month.  Her oldest son is in prison and the one married daughter who still lives in the village has temporarily moved to town (with her children) to escape inter-tribal conflict. She is feeling depressed and alone. The women in her community are disturbing her and persecuting her for her Christian beliefs. They say she has done something wrong because her son remains in jail. They are pressuring her to go to the “laibon” and get him to help her by performing some traditional act of divination. She needs your prayers that she will be strong and remain true to her Christian faith. Pray also that her daughter will be able to return soon so that mama will be encouraged. Without her daughter and grand children, there is little for her to do each day but sit and think. When the daughter returns, she will have the year old grand daughter to help with and also the women will not bother her as much. Thanks for praying, Sandra (May 20, 2006)
