encouraging prayer update

We are praising God for how He has worked in the hearts of the elders at Sononi. On Charlie’s last trip to the village, several men began asking very probing spiritual questions. They began with things like “what is sin” and “how do you know”? Charlie explained that we know about sin through the law and talked to them about the Ten Commandments. As their conversation progressed, the men continued to ask questions which led them right up to the point where they asked, “how do we get forgiveness from God?” After explaining how Jesus died to pay the price for sin and provide forgiveness to all who believe and repent, seven elders then prayed to receive Christ. Our “man of peace”, Ndege was not among them as he was ill that night. After praying for him to be well, he returned the next morning (no longer sick) and he, too, prayed for salvation. We are overjoyed to see these men come to Christ and anxious to see what great things God can do through them. Charlie told them they should now tell others what they have done and why. Word was already spreading throughout this area about the stories and others wanting to hear them. We pray these men will now carry the news of redemption and forgiveness to the same ones they were telling about the stories and God will use them to bring the message of the Gospel to many. Pray for them to witness to their neighbors, friends and family that entire households and even villages will hear and be saved. Pray for them to have a genuine desire from the Lord to learn more about Him and also to tell others what they learn. Pray for a spirit led movement among these Samburu in the difficult to reach location.
