Please pray for Samburu Pastor "Jackson"

Dear Prayer Partners,
Please pray for one of our Samburu pastors named Jackson. He has been my interpreter and language tutor for quite some time. Recently, he has begun going out to the area that I had been ministering, to follow-up with the people that had been gathering in groups to learn God’s Word. He has a great burden for them and desires to minister to them as often as he can. This area is too far away for him to walk or ride a bike, to so he must ride a supply truck there and stay overnight. When he went last week, he was invited to a wedding and was given an opportunity to share his testimony and to share from God’s Word. He tells stories from God’s Word as most of the people are non-literate and stories are a common way for the Samburu to communicate. He shared with a group of Elders (Samburu old men). After quite a while of sharing and answering questions (some about murder/abortion, adultery and tobacco), the Elders said that they knew that he was telling them the truth and that they needed to repent. He led 8 of them in a prayer of repentance and salvation. These men rejoiced at having learned the truth and having received Jesus as their Saviour.
Please pray for Jackson as he goes back to the area again today. Pray that he will be able to find this group of Elders and to begin to disciple them. I have asked him to challenge them to learn how to share their testimonies with their families and with others. He will begin teaching them the first of a series of 6 stories that are designed to disciple new believers. Pray that these men will have the courage to witness to others, especially other Elders. Pray for Jackson’s protection. Pray that Jackson will also have other opportunities to share his testimony with others who have never heard of Jesus. This area is currently being flooded with people who are escaping the conflict that is currently going on between the Samburu and the Pokot. Please pray for Jackson’s wife and 2 children while he is away from them. He may stay in the area for 2 days. Also, please pray for Jackson as he is beginning to get a vision for how God can reach ALL of the Samburu people, and how it can begin with him. Your prayers are vital as Jackson will surely face demonic resistance to his work.
