Simmons return to the US

Dear Friends and Family,
We have decided the best option for Eddy’s medical problems (which we are almost sure now are neck disc problems) is to return to the US for medical stateside assignment for six months. Thank you so much for all of your prayers over the last months of struggle. The Lord has indeed been faithful, and has poured out His grace on us in many ways. One of the ways He’s shown us His hand is in the realization that we have real, deep friendships with many Samburu who have prayed and wept together with us during these months. Please pray for us, as we try to pack up, say goodbyes to these wonderful friends, and finish our time here well. Our heart’s desire is for Eddy to get a proper diagnosis and treatment, and for us to be able to return to the Samburu 6 months from now. Please pray that the Lord would lead us to the right specialists, and that even now He would be preparing the doctors, opening up appointments, etc. We are trying to get a flight out of Kenya mid-August, which is tricky because it’s the height of tourist season. Nothing is too hard for God! Please also pray for us to be able to complete a very important project before we leave–the recording of a set of Bible stories for women, retold by a friend of mine in the Samburus’ heart language, along with authentic Samburu songs for each story. It is a God-sized task, and we are asking Him to supernaturally help us to finish it before we leave for the US. It is so important! Please pray! Eddy cannot ride in the car back to our home, so we are investigating AIMAIR flying him to our home in a Cessna. He really needs to say his own goodbyes. But, if it is not advisable medically, I will need to return without him to do everything, even all the goodbyes. My heart is heavy, OUR hearts are heavy! But we know God’s grace is sufficient, and HIS mercies are new every morning. Please join us in prayer for all these things, as we take the next step on this journey.
