December update from the Daniels

The time is flying like reindeer on Christmas Eve. We have had some great days and spent many of them traveling to visit with old friends, family and meeting new folks. We have had the great privilege of telling the story of the Samburu people with the desire that many will remember to “pray for the saints” as Paul urged us to do.
Yesterday was a fun-filled special day as we took Joseph to the local mall to meet Santa. We got the top of all treats with this Santa Claus as he is also a great story teller. He shared an old Scandanavian tale and a funny story about one of his elves at the North Pole named “Trouble.” Afterward, he greeted the kids one on one and Joseph told Santa what he wanted for Christmas. We made a surprise trip to Build a Bear Workshop for a stuffed Rudolph and there was even a model train exhibit. It was an exciting time for Joseph and we were so blessed to be able to spend this time doing things we would never be able to do in Kenya. It is a Christmas season we will all remember.
With Christmas getting nearer, it also means the weeks are growing short until Sam heads off to Virginia and Liberty University. We are excited about this new beginning, but also know that we will all greatly miss him. Personally, I am ready for some months that don’t have anything going on or coming up that yank my heartstrings or blow my mind. That doesn’t seem to be what life is about right now, however. Maybe that is what characterizes “mid-life”. Those of you who have already passed this stage, feel free to let me know when I can expect a reprieve! I praise God that I know His grace is always sufficient and I am grateful for His abundant kindness and mercy which has overflowed to me.
We also thank all of you who give to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. Your generosity makes it possible for us to live among a people who cannot read and have very little access to the Gospel. We are there because you give. It’s as simple as that. We can go to the unreached places and bring God’s story to a people who have never heard. We have a safe vehicle, a secure home, a fantastic support team, excellent medical care…all of this because Southern Baptists care about bringing the Story of Jesus to the Nations of the World. We promise to do our part and we thank you for doing yours. God bless and Merry Christmas! The Daniels
