The days dwindle down

We are coming much closer to the end of our Stateside time with our departure scheduled for March 30th. We are looking forward to returning to Kenya, while we know we will miss our family and friends here. There are also so many fun things to do here and we are taking advantage of that. Today, for example I went to an estate sale. While there, I met a woman from S. Africa. We enjoyed visiting with each other as we both got to talk with someone who understood African issues. Very rarely do you meet someone in the States who keeps up with African goings on. As she spoke of her beloved country in her gentle accent, I was reminded of the trips we’ve made and the friends we have there. What a blessing.
Sam seems to be doing well at Liberty. He likes his classes and his roomate has Xbox, so everything sounds like it is under control. Haha. Joseph is still attending pre-school 2 days a week and has gotten to do some fun things with that. Right now, he is spending the week with granny and papa in the country. He keeps saying he wants to stay 9 days. Meanwhile, Charlie has been spending a few days driving around Texas with his dad to visit some of his uncles. And last weekend, my mom and I visited a friend who lives in a small town west of Ft. Worth. (Yes, there was antique shopping involved.) We sound like vagabonds, but seriously, we love travelling so much…even at $3.00 a gallon.
For those of you that have asked, we are not worried our situation in Kenya or our return. Our friends and colleagues are all safe and any are working in relief efforts. Pray for them during this stressful work. Pray for Kenyans who have been displaced. Pray for the leaders of the country to work diligently to resolve the many problems facing Kenya at this time. Pray for all people living in Kenya to desire and work hard for peace and unity.
