HAPPY NEW YEAR

I’m figuring on writing a New Year’s newsletter, but it’s almost February. Seems like we just took down the Christmas tree. Or rather, Charlie did. Since I broke my toe the week before Christmas, he not only put up all the decorations, he took them down as well. He actually put them up in November of course, as soon as we got back from Nairobi. I was putting away groceries for a couple days and we were preparing for early December guests, so it was terrific that he did all the decorating. I have spent the last 5 weeks off my feet as much as possible. Charlie has done the domestic chores and I am grateful for all help. He even did the shopping on our recent Nairobi trip. We were blessed to attend the East Africa Homeschooler’s Conference and see many of our friends and meet some new ones who are homeschooling. It was the largest conference we’ve had to date and several Kenyans were in attendance. It was good to hear the stories of how they are working to make a difference in the lives of their children and families. Many were raised without much fatherly input and they are changing that pattern. They are purposefully raising confident, thoughtful children and encouraging them to honor God in all they do. It was a real blessing. Now we’ll get back into our ‘routine’ here in Maralal and get back to work. May God’s grace and mercy be with all of ya’ll and his richest blessings be yours for the New Year and beyond.
