WASIWASI
Sometimes a word just doesn’t translate literally into another language.
The Swahili word above is defined as “doubt, perplexity, disquiet, esp. when
caused by moral want of balance, weakness of character, yielding to
temptation.” (Oxford University Press, Standard Swahili-English Dictionary)
As things went well with many new churches started last year and then
the drought ending in January, we were elated and encouraged. New churches
and leaders now need your prayers to be able to discern between those who
want to help and those who want to bring trouble. Division, bad doctrine and
false teachings can creep in if a shepherd is not diligent and watchful of
his flock and there are always those who want to build on another’s
foundation and pervert the good work that God is doing. We have seen this
before and ask that you assist by being a warrior in prayer for those who
have not yet learned how to fight the battle themselves. Standing firm
against the enemy is critical if these new churches are to survive, thrive
and spread the Good News to other people and places.
